In the case of writing of information, the laser beam from an LD/PD unit 23 passes an objective lens 9 through a rising mirror and irradiates an optical disk, thereby writing the prescribed information. In the case of the reproduction of the information, the laser beam from the LD/PD unit 23 passes the objective lens 9 through the rising mirror and irradiates the optical disk and the reflected laser beam returns to the LD/PD unit 23 in a reverse route, thereby reading the signal.
