Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a diarylsufonylurea-binding protein of a compound inhibiting inflammatory cytokine formation by determining the binding ability of a compound to a polypeptide encoded by a specific nucleotide sequence. SOLUTION: When screening the ability of a compound inhibiting the formation of inflammatory cytokine (e.g. interleukin I or the like), the method of this invention is to determine the binding ability of the above compound to a polypeptide encoded by a polynucleotide sequence of the formula (or a polynucleotide sequence having at least a 95% identity to the polynucleotide sequence) and to identify a diarylsufonylurea(DASU)-binding protein(DBP) as a new treatment target for inhibiting the release of an inflammatory mediator (e.g. interleukin I).
