Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a leader.pin.assembly for connecting a tape used in a magnetic tape memory device to a tape drive assembly. SOLUTION: The leader.pin.assembly 10 includes a flexible element 14 covering a portion of a leader.pin 12 and a clip 16 brought into pressurized contact with the flexible element 14 so as to cover this element. The tape is fixed between the leader.pin 12 and the flexible element 14. The flexible element 14 includes at least one end extending beyond the clip 16. The clip 16 is an approximately annular cylindrical member which has a bore slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the flexible element 14, has one set of chamfered and approximately parallel edges and has an aperture in a longitudinal direction. In the method for manufacturing the leader.pin.assembly, the leader.pin 12 and the flexible element 14 covering a portion thereof are provided and the clip 16 constituted to be brought into pressurized contact with the flexible element 14 in a fixing relation therewith is provided. The flexible element 14 is fixed to the leader.pin 12 by pressurized contact.
