WATER- AND OIL-REPELLENT PROCESSING AGENT COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition easy to prepare and excellent in water- and oil-repellent properties by incorporating as an effective ingredient a copolymer containing two kinds of polymerizable monomers each bearing a polyfluoroalkyl group. SOLUTION: This composition comprises as an effective ingredient a copolymer containing a polymer unit (A) based on a polymerizable monomer represented by the formula: CH2=CRCOOCH(CH2Ra)CH2CH2Rb and a polymer unit (B) based on a polymerizable monomer represented by the formula: CH2= CRCOOCH2CH2Rc. In the formulae, Ra, Rb and Rc are the same or different and are each a 3-20C polyfluoroalkyl; and R is hydrogen atom or methyl. Preferably, the polymer unit A constitutes 1-30 wt.% of the copolymer. Besides, the total amount of the polymer units A and B in the copolymer is preferably 30-95 wt.%. The copolymer can contain a polymer unit other than the polymer units A and B. There is no particular limitation on another monomer employed so long as it is a compound bearing a polymerizable unsaturated group.
