Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve water resistance and weatherability and a water-based ink to the same level as that of a plate printing ink since a water-based ink having a composition composed of a water-soluble dye and water provides stable ink discharge due to physical properties (surface tension and viscosity) suitable for ink-jet but a defect of weak water resistance has been unable to be solved when a water-soluble dye is used as an ink colorant. SOLUTION: Ink-jet recording is carried out by using a water-based ink obtained by dissolving a leuco sulfuric ester alkali metal salt of quinone type insoluble organic coloring matter and ink dots on a material to be recorded are provided with light energy to change the organic coloring matter into an insoluble coloring matter. Consequently the durability (water resistance, light resistance and heat resistance) of printing ink is improved to the same level as that of a plate printing ink.
