ROLLING FIRE PREVENTION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a device to stop a rolling mill in a desired time even in the case of cutting an electrical system and to improve the reliability for preventing fire generation. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a control means 17 which outputs an opening command of the roll gap of a rolling roll to a roll screw down device based on an emergency command of a fire detection signal etc., and also outputs a stop command to a drive control device 12 of an electric motor to drive the rolling mill, a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher 15 to inject carbon dioxide gas to a prescribed region of the rolling mill in response to the emergency command and a brake device to the electric motor to drive the rolling mill. By operating the brake device based on the stop command of the electric motor to mechanically brake the electric motor, the rotation of the rolling mill is surely stopped within the time of the carbon dioxide gas injection continuing capability of the carbon dioxide gas fire extinguisher 15.
