Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the subject device most suitable for an oxygenator capable of remarkably improving the gas exchanging efficiency, requiring excellent oxygen supply capacity and excellent carbon dioxide removing capacity from blood and requiring to be small sized, low in priming quantity and low in pressure loss of blood flow. SOLUTION: An external circulation type hollow fiber membrane type gas- liquid gas exchanging device, which is formed by using a hollow fiber membrane sheet formed by arranging hollow fiber membranes 5 having 150-390 μm outside diameter substantially in parallel at 120-280 μm interval, laminating so that the equivalent diameter (Dv) calculated by Dv=4×(the whole space volume occupied by the sheet laminated body)/(the whole effective outside surface area) is 165-325 μm and incorporating in a housing, and a gas exchanging method are provided.
