Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molded lightning arrester capable of more reliably preventing fragments of a current limiting element form splashing, when the current limiting element is destroyed by a lightening stroke with an excessive discharge withstand current rating. SOLUTION: A thin thickness part 5 for discharging gas is provided in a part of the mold body 4 of a molded lightning arrester. A splash preventing member 6 covering the side of the end part of a current limiting element 1 is provided at a position near the thin thickness part 5. A first splash preventing member is a cup type one, a second splash preventing member is one equipped with plural side plates and a third splash preventing member is a cylindrical one provided between the current limiting elements.
