Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized, lightweight, and thin ultraviolet surface light source device at low cost and make it difficult to have the heat generated conducted in a light source to the light emitting surface side by arranging a light guide bar for emitting ultraviolet rays to one side surface of a light guide plate, and connecting the other end of an optical fiber, one end of which the ultraviolet ray an ultraviolet ray source is incident on to one end or both ends of the light guide bar. SOLUTION: The other end of an optical fiber 2, one end of which the ultraviolet ray from a light source 1 is made incident, is connected to the one end of a light guide bar 3. The light guide bar 3 is a quartz cylinder, and a light scattering treatment part 5 roughened by flaws (or having a coating material applied thereto) is formed on a surface opposite to the ultraviolet ray emitting surface of the light guide bar 3. The ultraviolet ray generated in the light source 1 is transferred to one end of the light guide bar 3 through the single-core optical fiber 2 to emit strip ultraviolet rays from the light guide 4 side surface of the light guide bar 3 towards one side surface 8 of the light guide plate 4, and the ultraviolet rays incident on the light guide plate 4 are emitted from a surface 7 of the light guide plate 4 towards a direction B with uniform intensity.
