TRANSFER MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the preparation and the manufacture of a coating member which can be adjusted to required specific resistance and which is provided with an excellent electrical, chemical and mechanical characteristic in addition to excellent adaptability by including a polymer and the mixture of two or more kinds of carbon black in a transfer member. SOLUTION: Under the effect of the electrostatic force field of the bias transfer member 4, an electrified grain-state toner material is attached and transferred to/on a copying sheet 16 from a photoreceptor 10. The transfer member 4 is constituted by including the polymer and the mixture of two or more kinds of carbon black. Then, the first carbon black whose grain size is about 1 to about 100 μm and the second carbon black whose grain size is about 1 submicron to about 1 μm are included in the mixture of the carbon black. Besides, the first carbon black having the surface specific resistance of about 10-1 to about 103 Ω-cm and the second carbon black having the surface specific resistance of about 103 to about 107 Ω-cm are included in the mixture of the carbon black.
