YELLOW TONER AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a toner excellent in transparency transmittance, which exhibits hue having excellent balance on an image having a low glossiness by incorporating a binding resin with a yellow colorant having a specified structural formula and a salicylic acid-metal compound. SOLUTION: The toner contains a binding resin, a yellow colorant of the formula and a salicylic acid-metal compound. That is to say, the coloring compound (yellow colorant) excellent in its transparency and dispersibility is used. The coloring compound expressed by the formula has primary particle sizes of 0.01-0.70 μm, preferably, 0.01-0.40 μm and, more preferably, has a coefficient of variation of the particle size number distribution of =0.70 μm and a coefficient of variation of the particle size number distribution of >=60% are used, the coagulation of the colorant easily occurs at the time of the production of the toner.
