HEATER FOR STAIRCASE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the drainage performance of the water melted on a snow melting mat by burying a heating element in the water-permeable mat made of rubber chips. SOLUTION: A panel main body 1 is buried with a heating element 3 in a water-permeable mat 2 made of rubber chips. Rubber chips of a proper size are fixed by a binder resin at gaps between the rubber chips to form the rubber chip mat 2, and the reclaimed rubber of waste tires is normally used for the rubber chips. Any resin sticking the rubber chips may be used for the binder resin, an urethane resin is preferably used, and the blending radio is set to about 100 pts.wt. of the binder resin against 30 pts.wt. of the rubber chips. The ice and snow on the panel main body 1 is melted by the heating element 3, and the melted water is drained to the ground surface through the rubber chip water-permeable mat 2. No water is retained on the surface of the whole panel, and walking can be facilitated.
