Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare an antioxidant for carbon-containing refractories while effectively utilizing industrial wastes by including aluminum dross. SOLUTION: This antioxidant for refractories virtually including >=1 wt.% carbon is prepared by utilizing aluminum dross as an unutilized by-product which is slag arising when fused aluminum contacts with air (e.g. when dipping out aluminum from an electric furnace for refining aluminum, when melting aluminum metal or its scrap, or the like), is slag being added in refining aluminum, reacting with fused aluminum, being formed on the surface and covering fused aluminum so as to prevent it from contacting with air, and arises when aluminum refinement or remelting of metallic aluminum (including recovered aluminum raw material). The aluminum dross is included in such a quantity that the aluminum dross can give the same oxidation resistance as in using aluminum as an antioxidant to the metallic aluminum content in aluminum dross. |
