Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare the subject structural material comprising low density calcium silicate molded product reinforced with carbon staple fibers and having more excellent durability than conventional by uniformly dispersing a fine-grain thermosetting synthetic resin in matrix comprising Xonotlite in a specific content ratio. SOLUTION: This structural material for an apparatus for casting a low- melting metal is prepared by uniformly dispersing 1-10 wt.% fine-grain thermosetting synthetic resin in matrix. The fine-grain thermosetting synthetic resin has pref. 1-100 μm particle diameter and is benzoguanamine resin, melamine resin, benzoguanamine/melamine/formaldehyde condensation polymer, or the like. The structural material is produced by mixing raw materials with a proper quantity of water to make a uniform slurry, by its dehydrating molding into a preferred shape so as for a final product to have pref. ca. 0.5-1.0 g/cm3 density and by transferring the product into an autoclave where the product is hydrothermally treated at ca. 14 kg/cm2 steam pressure for ca. 5-48 h. and is dried with |
