Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excavate a tunnel having an arbitrary cross section both before branching and after branching by a simple structure. SOLUTION: In the branched shield machine 1 for the deformed cross section, a plurality of branched shield 2 having cutter heads 4 in front sections are juxtaposed, and each cutter head 4 can excavate the deformed cross section in cooperation with adjacent cutter heads 4 before the branching (the time of excavation by the main shield 1) of each branched shield 2, and has deformed cross-section excavating means capable of discretely excavating the deformed cross section after the branching of each branched shield 2.
