Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation method of a high density polyethylene in which a polymerization activity per catalyst can be increased and a high density polyethylene with excellent moldability can be obtained. SOLUTION: In a preparation method of a high density polyethylene by a multistage slurry polymerization method containing a low molecular weight polyethylene polymerization step and a high molecular weight polyethylene polymerization step, 35% or more of a recovered liquid obtained by solid liquid separation of a polymerization liquid obtained in the final polymerization step is circulated to the low molecular weight polyethylene polymerization step as a polymerization solvent.
