PRODUCTION OF ANILINOPYRIMIDINE DERIVATIVE AND ITS INTERMEDIATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound useful as an intermediate material for an antagonist against corticotropin-releasing factor effective against melancholia, anxiety syndrome, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson disease, Huntington's chorea, hypertension, gastrointestinal disease, epilepsy, cerebral infarction, cerebral edema or the like. SOLUTION: This new compound is a 4-tetrahydropyridino-2- alkylsulfonylpyrimidine derivative of formula I [Ar is (substituted) phenyl, thienyl or furyl where a substituted site is 4- or 5-position; R1 is H or a 1-5C alkyl; R2 is a 1-5C alkyl], e.g. 4-[4-(3-fluorophenyl)-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridin-1- yl]-2-isobutylsulfonyl-6-methylpyrimidine. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a compound of formula II with a tetrahydropyridine derivative of formula III.
