PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable easy adjustment of pliability characteristics of a shaft by inserting and sealing an adjusting body which is a cylindrical body having a length sufficient to affect a pliability of a golf club shaft, wherein two or more lengthwise notches are formed from upper and lower cylinder openings excluding a middle part with uniform adjacent gaps. SOLUTION: An adjusting body 4 is a cylindrical body composed of a metal or a resin, which has a thickness capable of being inserted and sealed in a shaft 2, and is formed in a length (approximately 2-8 cm) sufficient to affect a pliability of the shaft 2. Two or more lengthwise notches 42 and 43 are formed from upper and lower cylinder openings excluding a middle part 41 with uniform adjacent gaps, and pliable surface parts 44 and 45 separated by the notches 42 and 43 are formed. The adjusting body 4 is inserted in an appropriate position inside the shaft 2 and the middle part 41 is adhered to an inner surface of the shaft 2, thereby pliability characteristics of the shaft 2 at the time of swinging are adjusted.
