PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure sufficiently high safety at the time of measurement and at the time of the fault of a torque limiter. SOLUTION: After both side faces of the heel are clamped by a fixed measurement device 14 and a moving measurement device 15 with prescribed pressurizing force by moving the moving measurement device 15 back and forth to the heel ultrasonic wave signals are transmitted and received between the measurement devices 14 and 15 and the bone is measured. This device is provided with a driving motor 29 for generating driving force for moving the moving measurement device 15 back and forth the torque limiter 28 for limiting the driving force to the prescribed pressurizing force and a back-and-forth movement mechanism for moving the moving measurement device 15 back and forth by the driving force and displacing the moving measurement device 15 in a reaction direction when reaction larger than the prescribed pressurizing force is imparted.
