HEATING ELEMENT AND CONTROL DEVICE FOR HEATING ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the heating time of a heating element and to control a device more quickly by setting the positive temperature coefficient of the resistance material of a heater path formed at one end section of the heating element smaller than the positive temperature coefficient of the material of at least a portion of feeder lines electrically connected to the heater path. SOLUTION: A heating element 1 is arranged in or on a plate-like ceramic substrate 7 in the longitudinal direction. A heater path 2 facing sonde power and extending meanderingly is provided in the front region B of the heating element 1, and a pair of feeder lines 3, 4 are provided in a region continued to rear end sections A. The heater path 2 is made of a resistance material having a relatively small positive temperature coefficient αT2. The resistance materials of the feeder lines 3, 4 have relatively higher temperature coefficients αT3, αT4 than the temperature αT2 used as a reference. The feeder lines 3, 4 are terminated at the end sections A of connection positions 5, 6. The temperature coefficients αT3 and αT4 are made not necessarily equal, and they may merely have the relation αT3, αT4>αT2.
