Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nonwoven fabric excellent in hydrophilic property, static resistance, strength, etc., without troublesome aftertreatment of fiber such as sulfonation, etc., and a nonwoven fabric excellent in initial hydrophilic property, water-retaining property and durability, especially when used for battery separators. SOLUTION: This nonwoven fabric is composed of (A) potassium ionomer having >=60% neutralization degree of ethylene-unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer having 10-30 wt.% unsaturated carboxylic acid content and (B) a conjugate fiber comprising a hydrophobic polymer having >=125 deg.C melting point, in which at least >=30% of the surface area is occupied by the component A (e.g. conjugated yarn having core-sheath structure each containing the component A as a sheath component and the component B as a core component or parallel type conjugated fiber composed of the component A and the component B or composed of 40-100 wt.% of the above conjugated fiber and 60-0 wt.% fiber of hydrophobic polymer having >=125 deg.C melting point. |
