METHOD AND DEVICE FOR INSERTING CYLINDRICAL ELECTRODE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for inserting a cylindrical (columnar) electrode which can simplify inserting and mounting of electrode and can enhance the yield in high quality batteries production. SOLUTION: A cylindrical electrode 1 pinched and held coaxially by a pair of electrode holding blocks 2a and 2b is pressed by a pressure body (inserting body) 3 contacting one end face of the electrode and inserted into an outer can 4 with one end opening 4a held by a can holding part 5 advanced and retreated by a can moving mechanism 8, and the can 4 with the electrode 1 inserted is retreated by the mechanism 8 and separated from the blocks 2a and 2b. At the time the can 4 is separated from the blocks 2a and 2b with the retreat of the mechanism 8 after insertion of the electrode 1, the end face of the can 4 is again pressed by the pressure body 3 so that the can 4 is separated toward the can holding part 5.
