Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover accurately the incorrect enumeration item data of an electronic tripping apparatus, by encoding its enumeration items through two or more repeated bit patterns, and by substituting the incorrect patterns of its respective enumerated values with collation patterns. SOLUTION: A ROM 28 includes the application code of an electronic tripping apparatus, e.g. a main function firmware including initialization parameters, and its boot code. An EEPROM 30 includes computational parameter codes, e.g. encoded enumeration items related to such parameters as 50/60 Hz and UL/ANSI/IEC. Some or all of these parameters or options are stored in the electronic tripping apparatus in its manufacturing factory to be also selected thereafter responding to customer requests. During the initialization of the electronic tripping apparatus, the validity of the block of the data read out from the EEPROM 30 is checked using checksum algorism. Thereby, incorrect data are recovered using their pattern collations or validity checkings. |
