Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress gelation of an adhesive composition without detriment to radiation crosslinkability of the adhesive composition by adding a monothiol as a stabilizer to a molten, pressure sensitive adhesive composition based on a natural or synthetic rubber, a tackifier resin and a radiation crosslinking accelerator. SOLUTION: The molten, pressure sensitive adhesive composition comprises a solid monothiol, as a stabilizer, soluble or dispersible in a rubber and, if desired, at least one fluid phosphite ester, compatible with the rubber, for enhancing activities of the monothiol, and is based on a natural or synthetic rubber, a suitable tackifier resin and an accelerator for increasing the yield of radiation crosslinking. As the monothiols are preferable 2-mercaptobenzimidazole or its substituted derivatives, especially 4- and/or 5-methyl-2-mercaptobenzimidazole. |
