Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a soil release oligoester useful as a detergent for a washing machine for domestic use. SOLUTION: This oligoester is obtained by subjecting (a) 40-52 mol.% of one or more dicarboxylic acid or its ester, (b) 10-40 mol.% of ethylene glycol and/or propylene glycol, (c) 3-20 mol.% of a polyethylene glycol, (d) 0.5-10 mol.% of a water-soluble addition product of 5-80 mol.% of an alkylene oxide and 1 mol of a 1-24C alcohol, a 6-18C alkylphenol or a 8-24C alkylamine and (e) 0.4-10 mol.% of one or more polyols containing 3-6 hydroxy groups to polycondensation.
