Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convey a sheet inward and outward simultaneously and to positively reverse and convey the sheet without the sheets interfering with each other at the time of conveying the sheet into a switchback conveying path and then reversing the conveyed direction to convey the sheet outward. SOLUTION: A sheet conveying device is provided with a carry-in conveying means 57 for conveying a sheet P into a switchback conveying path 55 by sucking the sheet P to a carry-in belt 57c by air suction from a suction port 60a provided at an air suction duct. At the time point of completing carry-in of the sheet P, a carry-out process is performed by sucking the sheet P to a carry-out belt 58 constituting a carry-out conveying means 58 provided corresponding to the carry-in conveying means 57, by air suction from a suction port 62a provided at an air suction duct 62. During this carry-out process, a following sheet P can be conveyed in, so that the sheets can be conveyed in and out at the same time, and both sheets can be positively conveyed in and out without the conveyed-out sheet interfering with the conveyed-in sheet.
