EMERGENCY SHUTOFF METHOD FOR GAS CONDUIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily shut off a conduit in a short time even in the case where pressure is high as in an intermediate pressure pipe, and also, a pipe diameter is large enough, at the time of emergency, in an emergency shutoff method for the gas conduit, shutting off the conduit in a pipeline by means of a cutoff fluid, after pouring the cutoff fluid, consisting of a high viscous fluid, into the pipeline. SOLUTION: A through-wire tool 4 attached with a parachute 5 at the tip side from the upstream side of a shutoff planned spot 2 of a pipeline 1 is fed into the pipeline 1, and in a state that any downflow of the parachute 5 to the downstream side is checked in the pipeline 1, the parachute 5 is expanded in the radial direction of the pipeline 1, and then a cutoff fluid 3 is poured into the pipeline 1 from the upstream side of the parachute 5, and the cutoff fluid 3 is intercepted by this expanded parachute 5, thus shutting off the conduit.
