Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rationalize update process of UTOC of a plurality of MDs in an MD recording/reproducing apparatus to which a plurality of recording mediums can be loaded. SOLUTION: An MD 13 loaded in a recording/reproducing unit 17 is caused to hold the update of contents to be changed of UTOC, even if history change is generated in UTOC, during the loading for edition, voice recording, etc., and on the occasion of exchange with the other MD 13 of a bank apparatus 11. When a user has issued the instruction for exhaustion from the MD recording/reproducing apparatus 10 to which a plurality of recording mediums can be loaded, it is changed to the latest UTOC and the MD is then exhausted.
