Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a static pressure porous bearing, which is excellent in productivity, and is less in the dispersion of characteristics. SOLUTION: A work 10 is prepared, in which base material 1 formed out of the porous material of bronze is mounted to the front face of a bearing case 3. A space part 5 is formed at the back face side of the base material 1. The work 10 is mounted to a cutting device, and cutting the surface of the base material 1 is processed using a single crystal diamond bite. Next, a surface squeezing layer 2 is formed over the surface of the base material 1 by kneading molybdenum disulfide with binder, and applying its product over the surface of the base material 1. The work 10 is mounted to the cutting device again, and cutting the surface layer part of the surface squeezing layer is processed using a single crystal diamond bite. In this case, the flow rate of compressed air is monitored simultaneously, and the quantity of next cutting, that is, the quantity of material removal out of the surface layer is thereby determined.
