SOLUTION: In a coating apparatus having a spray gun A in a spray booth equipped with a substrate carrying mechanism by a conveyer, an inclined plate part B for receiving excess coating is installed below the conveyer. The inclined plate part B is cooled by a cooling apparatus C so that its surface is bedewed, and the excess coating can be recovered together with the dew water from the inclined plate B.
