Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a solution process for the preparation of S-SBR with reduced energy consumption. The process comprises a polymerization step carried out in adiabatic mode at a temperature T1 from 40 to 50°C and a subsequent step carried out in isothermal mode at a temperature T2 from 60 to 80°C, in which the reaction heat is removed by condensing the vapours generated by the boiling reaction mixture. SBR copolymers with excellent distribution of the comonomers and high content of vinyl units suitable for the production of green tires are obtained.
