Battery 1 activated by circulation of electrolyte, especially for the generating of electric energy intended for the propulsion of underwater systems, comprising a reservoir 8, an electrochemical cell 7 and a system for the formation of the electrolyte E and its circulation between the reservoir 8 and the electrochemical cell 7; said system 9 comprises an inlet line 20 communicating with the outside environment, a circulation pump 10, a device 11, 12, 40, 41 for regulating the temperature of the electrolyte E at the inlet of the electrochemical cell 7 and a gas separator 13 situated at the outlet of the cell 7 and having an outlet 14 for the liquid phase, which can be connected to the circulation pump 10, and an outlet 15 for the gas phase, connected to an outlet line 21; said lines 20, 21 are provided with respective elements of interception 25, 26, opposite each other and rigidly joined together so as to be subjected to equal and opposite hydrostatic thrust, and able to move between a position of closing and a position of opening in which they are accommodated inside the respective line 20, 21.
