Zusammenfassung:The method is used for monoliths in which the coating consists of a material including a substantial percentage of noble metal. This comprises a series of cycles, each formed by a first phase in which the monolith is impregnated with water, a second phase in which the monolith is subjected to cooling, and a third phase in which the monolith is subjected to heating in a water bath exposed to ultrasound. A sudden variation of temperature is thus obtained which causes a series of cracks in the coating, whereas the ultrasound vibrations cause the particles of the coating to be detached from the monolith.
