Zusammenfassung:The procedure for ejecting a crew member from a vehicle in flight consists in the fact that the crew member or element is fixed in the ejection seat, the seat is extracted from the vehicle in flight with the headrest forward, a force is applied to the seat with an eccentricity with respect to the centre of gravity of a "crew element ejection seat" system which deflects the flight trajectory of the seat from the initial one of pitching after a first pre-assigned period of time; the direction of the force is varied to guarantee a maximum recoil of the seat from the vehicle in flight, the trim of the seat being stabilized, after a second predetermined period of time, an emergency parachute being opened and the crew member being detached from the seat. The ejection seat is provided with a little ejection cannon, a first and second elevation motor, an emergency parachute, means for stabilizing the trim of the seat and an electrically programmed control unit associated with the drives of the seat mechanisms. The first and second elevation of thrust motors are arranged in such a way that the axes of symmetry of their ejectors are on a plane parallel to the plane of symmetry of the seat and passing through the centre of gravity of the ejector of the second thrust motor passing through the centre of gravity and being approximately parallel to the axis of symmetry of the barrel of the ejection cannon. The seat is fitted with additional means for stabilizing the trim, the back being positioned in the direction of flow or with the headrest forward.
