Zusammenfassung:The preparation of partly depolymerised and desulphated chondroitin sulphate of fish origin having a molecular weight between 10,000 and 30,000 Daltons and a sulphate/carboxyl ratio between 0.90 and 1.00 by a process which comprises treating aqueous solutions of chondroitin sulphate purified from fish tissues having a molecular weight of 30,000 - 50,000 and a sulphate/carboxyl ratio in excess of 1.00 at a pH of 1.5 - 3 in the presence of cationic resins, followed by various purification treatments, is described.
