Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to friction coatings. A carbon-containing friction article is a body 1 having working surfaces 2 comprising alternating layers 3, 4. The ratio between one thickness of each layer 4 formed of separate fibres and one thickness of each layer 3 formed of continuous carbon fibres is 2.10-15.0 in the vicinity of working surface 2, while within the article the said ratio is 1.0-4.0. The thickness of layer 4 formed by separate fibres within the article is less than that of layer 4 formed by the same fibres placed close to the working surface. Separate fibres in the vicinity of working surface 2 have an elastic modulus of 200-700 GPa. In the method according to the invention the layer formed by continuous carbon fibres is impregnated with pitch to form a prepreg material having a porosity of 30-80% with pore sizes of 0.2-2.0 mm. The mass of each layer made of separate fibres and the mass of each layer made of continuous carbon fibres are in the ratio 1.5-11.0 in the vicinity of the working surface and in a ratio of 0.8-3.0 in the inner part of the article. The mass of separate fibres within the article is less than the mass of the same fibres located in the vicinity of the working surface.
