The bed-cum-recliner has a main part with sides (1), front (2), back (3), fixed backrest (4) and seat/recliner surface (5). The main part's sides especially have a fitment (7) which has a plate (8, 9) fixed to the underside of the seat/recliner surface and to the main part's side. The system of links consists of two parallel, spaced apart bent levers (10, 11) the free ends of which are attached to the plate (8) on the main part's side, and to the plate (9) on the side of the seat/recliner surface. The lever (12) linked to one fitment (8), belonging to the front bent lever (11), is joined by a guide rod (14) to the lever linked to the seat/recliner surface side, belonging to the back bent lever (10). ADVANTAGE - The seat recliner surface is pulled out from the seat position into a position giving access to the bedding box, and then is pulled out and back into a horizontal position by a system of fitments.
