The accumulator operated cleaning device (1) has an accumulator (10) and a charging station (13), where the accumulator is charged with an electrical connection of the cleaning device to the charging station. The charging and discharging current of the accumulator is detected by an electric meter provided in the cleaning device or in the charging station. The cleaning device is optionally set in cooperation with the charging station in such a way that a defined charging and discharging is performed automatically at detection of the relevant current values. An independent claim is included for a method for determining the aging state of an accumulator in a cleaning device, such as a floor- or window cleaning appliance.
