| Zusammenfassung: | A method for manufacturing crystalline fibres in which the material intended to form the fibre is heated to the melting temperature inside a crucible 1 and is made to flow through a substantially vertical, small-diameter, terminal portion 4, at the outlet end of which the material solidifies so as to form the fibre, is improved by maintaining inside said crucible 1 a controlled pressure for regulating the flow of material from said terminal portion and by effecting, by traction means, removal of the material undergoing solidification at the outlet of said small-diameter terminal portion 4.
