In a device for analysing and measuring pores, of the type comprising at least one ampule or container for receiving a solid to be analysed, means for supplying mercury to said container, means for placing the mercury under pressure and means for connecting said container to low-pressure sources, the said supply means are connected to said container at a point located underneath the said solid substance, so as to avoid subjecting the solid to the pressure exerted by a mercury head and allow penetration of the mercury into the pores of the solid only following application of a pressure to the mercury itself.
