Zusammenfassung:	A valve assembly for a fuel injection system of a compression ignition engine includes a snubber valve member 22 biased towards a seating member 18 by a spring 23. The seating member is retained against a flange 15 which is machined during the production of a tubular body 10 housing the snubber valve member 22 and a delivery valve member 27. The snubber valve allows substantially unrestricted flow to the injection nozzle 14 of the engine but restricts the return flow to damp pressure pulsations occurring in the line 13 when the nozzle 14 closes.
