Zusammenfassung:	The object of the invention is to provide a tool for testing tubes on a tube-testing press by means of a pressure medium, which is guided into the interior of the tube, ensures reliable functioning and, in particular, permits the opening and closing of the axial thrust ring to be monitored. The basic idea of the solution consists in that the arrangement of the axial thrust ring and locking ring operates in a manner similar to a chuck for machine tools, ie. a longitudinal rod is used to rotate the locking ring, the axial thrust ring segments being moved radially in the direction towards the tube to be tested, until they bear against the tube or - upon opening of the tool - are guided away from the tube.
