The invention relates to an apparatus for the individual separation of flexurally slack sheet-like structures, especially for the garment-making industry. The solution according to the invention has the object of overcoming over the surface the adhesive forces acting between the uppermost layer and the subsequent layer of a blank stack and of thereafter lifting off the layer. The apparatus consists of rotatably and slideably arranged separating heads or segmental rollers, on which needle rows are arranged preferably by means of needle carriers. The needle rows make a positive connection with the surface structure of the uppermost layer of the blank stack. During the separation, as a rule two blanks are first lifted, and in the further course of the separating operation the uppermost blank is detached from the subsequent blank by means of shearing stresses, starting from the active region in the direction of the stack edge, and subsequently is lifted over the surface.
