METODO DI FABBRICAZIONE DI PRODOTTI DI LAMINAZIONE, IN PARTICOLARE DI TUBI

A continuous method for the production of discrete tube lengths of reduced cross-section from a long tube of relatively large cross-section is disclosed. The tube to be reduced in cross-section is weakened at predetermined points along its length by notching the tube wall or in some other similar manner and is fed to the processing station, where it is deformed by compression. The cross-section and wall thickness of the tube are reduced and give rise to a corresponding lengthening of the tube. The deformation due to the compressive force applied separates the tube into lengths at the weakened points. The tube emerges from the processing station in the form of discrete tube lengths of reduced diameter and predetermined length and these can be removed at that location as they arrive.
