Zusammenfassung:A ballistic armour plate arrangement which is proof against armour-piercing projectiles (rounds) is described which has a surface facing (dressing) consisting of individual surface elements (14) and a base (26) which withstands disintegrating projectiles, the surface elements (14) defining butt joints (18) between them. A ballistic reinforcing and deflecting strip (24) which is produced from a hardened (cured) material is mounted on the armour plate (10) over the butt joints (18) and its configuration and cross-sectional shape are such that it can deflect projectiles which strike at a predetermined grazing angle so that the projectiles have to travel over a longer distance through the armour.
