The invention relates to a device for stacking pipes and profiles with smooth ends, formed from a continuous board, approximately of the length of the stacking width, on which wedges are present on the top and, if necessary, the bottom, which wedges form in pairs a pocket for one pipe in each case, and the wedges which are arranged between the pipes being single-component double wedges. In order to be able to stack pipes with smooth ends one on top of the other as tightly as possible predominantly in terms of height, on under surfaces and intermediate surfaces and, consequently, to be able to secure them against transverse displacement in the stack during transport, in particular during customary railway transport, it is proposed according to the invention that the board (1) should consist of a steel strip and at both ends should form angles with legs (13, 14, 15, 16) perpendicular with respect to its longitudinal extent, against which legs the outer wedges (10, 12) rest with their backs (17, 18).
