Zusammenfassung:N-(1-propyl-2-pyrrolidinyl methyl)-2- methoxy-5-sulphamoyl benzamide (I), its quat. ammonium salts, N-oxide, isomers and their acid-addn. salts are new. Cpds. (I) has neuroleptic, antiemetic, and antidepressant activity. Its neuroleptic and antiemetic properties, and its toxicity are similar to those of sulphpiride (i.e. (I) with an ethyl rather than propyl substituent), but the latter cpd. lacks antidepressant activity. Its antidepressant action is similar to that of Imipramine, but it commences more rapidly and causes less undesirable side-effects.
