Zusammenfassung:Device to cool the walls of metallurgical furnaces, esp. shaft furnaces, consists of units which are attached to the furnace wall and include cooling tubes and refractory inserts. Each unit comprises, e.g. two L-shaped tubes and two Z-shaped tubes with the interval between them filled up with refractory material. The tubes are welded to metal sheets which are subdivided by horizontal overlapping joints. Such a device extends the non-stop working time of a furnace and reduces the time required for mfr. and installation.
