Zusammenfassung:Each section of the sec. cooling zone has a controller, adjusting the vol. of cooling water fed into each section. Molten metal is fed from a ladle via a tundish into the mould; and the ladle contains a thermocouple measuring the actual temp. of the melt. A signal of the actual temp. is fed into an electronic circuit together with the desired value, so a signal can be fed into a switch. The speed of travel of the cast billet through the sec. cooling zone is measured by a meter and is fed into another electronic circuit receiving signals representing the opening of the stopper on the ladle, and also the wt. of the tundish, so another signal can be fed to the switch, which then adjusts the controller. The invention can be applied to a multitrack continuous casting plant, and produces cast billets or slabs with a homogeneous internal structure.
