Zusammenfassung:A device for transporting yarn windings 24, particularly from open end spinning machines, is formed by a platform provided with a base plate which is provided with stationary guide for an exchangeable doffing tube 8 mounted dismountably thereon, and a guiding ring for a protective cover 23 of yarn windings, which is slid on the guiding ring and the doffing tube with its bottom upwards. As more yarn windings 24 are placed on tube 8 the cover moves down until it is full. The top of the cover can then be closed and the windings locked onto tube 8 which can then be removed as a unit.
